For the birds

I go through spurts when it comes to taking pictures of the wildlife that hangs out around our deck and back yard. But yesterday, I was playing with a lens that I hadn’t used in a while and the local birds turned out to be the perfect subjects.

Mr. House Finch perched at the tippy-top of the tree.

This female ruby-throated hummingbird was so well-camouflaged, I almost missed her.

One of our daily visitors — a female red-bellied woodpecker — checking to see if I’m still watching her.
